I spent the day with some great guys they were Col.Herbert Carter, Col. Leo Gray, and Col. Charles McGhee.
They are some of the surviving Tuskegee Airmen. They were very gracious, signing autographs, and telling their stories. I urge everyone to attend their next visit.
I have been working on a project to commemorate their service to our country, by building 3ea. P-51-C's and a P-40 that are replicas of the aircraft they flew in the war. I enlisted the help of Mr.Clint Martin who is a local artist and historian on the Tuskegee Airman documentation. The air men were delighted to see the planes they had about as many questions about the models as I did about the planes they flew.
One of the things that we did today was to autograph the planes.
I will post more later
