Wow, a weekend with one day of non-hurricane force winds. Wonderful day of flying on Sunday, could not ask for a much nicer day considering the conditions the last couple weeks. Had the normal crew out, Chris showing off his new Mustang he aquired from Bobby, Mario showing off his heli skills, and Tim just showing off. Robert G. also brung out his Swift inspired mega wing and some of his equipment from his work. No pics this week, camera is broke.

Today was our monthly meeting. It was windy! but some brave souls still took to the air. Had 5 heli's flying today, along with some other planes. Broke in the new Ultra Stick 60 with the Saito 100 and it is still one piece. Chris finished and showed off his super fancy bling-bling electric t-rex, aka the 'MongoCopter'. Tim let several beginners try out his Blade heli, and performed his first in-flight heli transmitter swap. All and all, it was an exciting day at the MCRCC. Click here for some pics.

Beautiful day today. Had a few members out helping getting the field ready for flying again one day soon. Tom brought his tractor and coordinated the effort. We picked up pieces of debris as well as shoveled some dirt into some ridges. The field was mowed for the first time also. The field has grass on it, but still has some work to do before it is %100 due to some ridges in it, you have to pick and choose where you are going to land if you like your landing gear (just ask Dicky). It should get better with mowing.

We also had a good time flying and eating burgers cooked by Chris. Nice to see a glow plane in the air again.

This Saturday , March 04, is supposed to be a pretty day. We need to get a work party together to get the field in shape.

I will be there at 09:00 a.m. and plan to stay most of the day, as there are several things we need to do.

1 - We need to pick up the debris on the field and smooth out the surface. This will require several folks with sturdy garden rakes, so if you have one, please bring it with you to the field.
2 - After smoothing the surface, we will need to hand sow some more ryegrass seed onto the bald spots and rake it in.
3 - The field is ready to be mowed and I would guess that it will be suitable to fly on again right away. However, there will be some spots that are sandy for a while.
4 - If anyone has a jack that will lift about 4,000 pounds, please bring it. I would like to get the storage container level and put some cement blocks under it. Then we can put the entrance ramp in place for access and egress of the lawn mower and barbeque grill.

The rains have not been cooperating with us lately on this project, but it looks promising for this weekend, so try to come and help out Saturday. Any and all assistance will be appreciated.

If you have any questions, please contact me. Tom Hill,
