What time do you normally fly?
Most of our members show up on the weekends. Saturday sometime after noon. On Sunday, the flying can start sometime before noon. Of course, all this is dependent on the weather. Most member show up for our meetings held the 2nd Sunday of every month at 2 p.m.Back to top
If I'm just visiting, can I fly my plane at the Bob Miller field?
Yes, you can. All we require is that you have an AMA license and follow our safety rules.Back to top
How do I get started in the R/C hobby?

The gate is locked! How do I get in?
All members of the club have a key. If there are no members flying, the gate is locked. If you want to fly and your a visitor, just try driving by the club during the weekend, normally people are flying. If you are not a visitor, consider getting a membership to the club, and then you'll get your own key.Back to top
I have a plane and I want to learn how to fly, do you have instructors?
Yes, we have 2 instructors just for teaching new pilots, and NO they don't charge a fee. We do ask that after a reasonable amount of time of flying at the club, you join our membership. Give us an email and we'll get you in contact with the instructors by clicking here.Back to top
Do you allow helicopters to fly?
Yes, just be considerate of others by not hogging the flight line.Back to top
Do you have restroom facilities and snacks?
We have restroom facilities. We have drinks for sale and a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave for club membership use.Back to top
Can a li poly battery be fast charged safely and if so at what rate. do u use the same rate formula as for the ni cads?
You have to use a charger that is meant to charge lipo's and you have to charge them at 1C amp rate. Ex: If the battery is a 1000mah battery, then you must charge them at 1 amp or less. I haven't seen any that can be charged any faster than that. It will take roughly 1 hour to charge a lipo battery due to this 1C charge limitation. What is AMA membership/insurance?
It is a form of insurance that members need to be able to use any RC vehicle at our club. The owners of the land will not let us fly without it. They have some introductory programs that are pretty cheap, as well as the standard ~$50 a year membership. You can read more at this link.Back to top
