By now most of you have heard that Jerry passed away early yesterday evening. Jerry was a good friend, a cornerstone of MCRCC and an ambassador to the hobby. Jerry taught many of us how to fly, myself included. I take solace in knowing that Jerry passed in his home, with Sandra by his side. Please keep Sandra, and their family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. God speed Jerry, I hope you have fair winds and plenty of sunshine. You will be sorely missed.

Today, this website is 13 years old!

In 13 years there has been a lot of change, lots of good people have come into this hobby, and many have passed away. If you dig through the pictures in the beginning you will see.

In the web world, 13 years is an eternity! Not many websites have stayed this constant for this long. It is somewhat impressive (if you are a geek). I mean in 13 years I have got married, had 3 kids, moved 3 times, been in and out of the hobby 3 times... but the site remained.

That being said, this site uses some very old software that can't be upgraded without days of manual work and I am not confident it will be up long term due to the version of PHP it uses. I have no plans of taking it down in the mean time till MCRCC decides to move on.

I am thinking that a Facebook 'group' page may better serve us as our main web presence. Other options would be: Someone else can do a site who is at the club more and will update the pics more, or I could do a new more simple site. Honestly though, everyone knows how to use Facebook, I like the Facebook Group idea with a very simple static website giving some basic info about the club.

Go to and let us know what your thoughts are on the post I put up there.

Good Morning, MCRCC members,

A short time ago I was advised of the passing of Bill Page. He was a long time member and one of our renowned story tellers. Bill died Sunday night. He will be sadly missed.

Arrangements are pending and we will pass along any further pertinent information when we have.

The Fly In was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who attended, many of you drove from several hours away...Thank You! Thank you to our club and members who made this possible! And thank you to to the sponsors, your help is icing on the cake for an already AWESOME event!

Great people, great fellowship, some serious kick butt flying, 42 pilots, a little breezy...but beautiful weather, what more could you ask for?

Again, thank you to everyone involved! Have safe travels and we'll see ya at the next one!

And yes, Superdave is in charge of buying all the raffle tickets for everyone from now on.
